Experiments in time lapse and working with large stacks of images.
Two of the three videos were constructed from a few thousand still images, each frame in the resulting animation is an average of the frames before and after. It's very much indebted to the work of Idris Khan and Jason Salavon. This is Water is a mix of that technique and traditional time-lapse, along with some slow-motion video.
Program notes: 4 Thousand Weddings has audio, A Walk Through the Woods and This is Water do not. The odd format of A Walk in the Woods is because it was created for the 20/92 Festival at the Crane Arts Building, and shown on the panoramic system that is, you guessed it, 20 x 92 feet.
